About 15 years ago, a home came on the market in the neighborhood we had always wanted.

The moment I saw it, I knew. The backyard, the pool, the slide, the view. I didn’t want my kids always going to someone else’s house. I wanted our home to be the one their friends came to. The warm, inviting place where the memories were made. That’s what I saw when I looked at that house.

There was one problem.

I had a home to sell, and the sellers would not accept a contingent offer. As a husband, a father, and a provider, I would have been heartbroken if I couldn’t make it happen. It would have crushed me.

But as soon as I saw that house, I knew it was meant to be our home.

I barely pulled it off. And I had every advantage: the experience, the knowledge, the connections, the resources. I can only imagine how impossible this feels for a family without all of that.

We went to church that Sunday morning. On the way home I drove slowly past the house. There was a sold sign out front. My kids saw it from the back seat.

I started my career as a formally trained and mentored Financial Advisor, learning from some of the best in the business how wealth is built, protected, and planned. That foundation gave me a way of seeing the full picture: taxes, assets, risk, and long-term strategy.

From there, I built a mortgage practice that has always been more about advice and strategy than just closing loans. Over 20+ years, I developed deep expertise in how real estate financing intersects with tax planning and wealth building, presenting strategies to CPA offices, financial planning firms, and accredited investors along the way. Along the way, I’ve been an active real estate investor for over 20 years, across multiple asset classes, market cycles, and strategies, including navigating the Great Recession. That hands-on experience gives me a perspective very few mortgage professionals can offer.
