Q1: What is the Katalyst Kickstart program?

A: It’s a lender-paid temporary buydown that reduces your interest rate by 1.00% for the first 12 months of your loan. You get a lower monthly principal & interest payment in Year 1, with no cost to you. After Year 1, the rate simply returns to the standard fixed rate you locked.

Q2: How much can I actually save on my payment?

A: Savings vary by loan amount, term, and rate. Some buyers can see up to $500/month (about $6,000 in Year 1), but your numbers are unique - use the calculator above for a personalized estimate. Any program caps and eligibility rules will still apply.

Q3: What happens after Year 1 - does my payment jump or does the loan change?

A: There’s no loan rewrite or ARM. In Month 13 your payment adjusts to the standard fixed rate you locked at closing. No balloon, no negative amortization, no recast—just the normal payment you qualified for from the start.

Q4: How is this different from a seller-paid buydown or a price reduction?

A: This is lender-funded, so it doesn’t use your cash or require the seller to contribute. It can help preserve the negotiated price while delivering immediate payment relief. In many cases, a lender-paid Year-1 buydown is more impactful to monthly affordability than a small price cut.

Q5: Does this change my APR or closing costs?
